Question:
What do you stuff in your kiddos stockings?
Really, I want to know. This is not some lead in to a funny story about stockings in our house, oh wait... it could be. Hadji did very selflessly give Lincoln some of his precious beer caps that he collects, in his stocking, last year. Nothing says brotherly love like a few Sam Adams' lids...
I need some new ideas. We usually do a car, a new toothbrush, some traditional candies from my childhood, and that's it. I think it is a little stocking sarcasm funny to put in candy AND a toothbrush. (I hope my dentist isn't reading this. If you are Mike, please know I am kidding... I put things like carrots, broccoli and a water bottle in the stockings. Yeppers.)
So what stuff do you stuff?
i thought i was so original to put cool new motorized toothbrushes in their stockings, but i guess not. i also do candy, usually some hair dodads, whatever the trendy new jewelry is (eg, silly bandz), some nail polish or gloss, (not helping you here am i?)we get them each an ornament each year so that goes in there usually, and this year K is finally old enough to "get"/ appreciate her very own starbucks card (the day I have dreamed of for so long:)) so a small GC will go in. thats about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm putting chugginton trains in the boys and a little baby quilt for Olivia. I think those wooden airlpane models and car models at the dollar store are a good idea too ...
ReplyDeletei do some crafts from the dollar spot at target or micheals, and then the same as you...a toothbrush, a small toy (also usually from the dollar spot), candy and a fun pair of socks.
ReplyDeleteWe put breakfast in, as well as some old fashion-dy toys, bandaids, Elena gets office supplies and a new feather duster, not the same for each. We like to diversify based on personality. An orange and a candy cane is fun.... stick the candy cane in the orange and suck til the candy cane becomes the straw.
ReplyDeleteif i put candy in, it's usually just like one of those tubes of M&M's or something like that. We do stockings last in our family so if anything Santa brought requires batteries, they will be in the stocking. I also do toothbrushes, toothpaste, chapstick. Megan usually gets some sort of hair thingy. maybe gloves or mittens. little dollar store things.
ReplyDeleteMmmm....toothbrush here too. :) dollar tree junk, magic tricks one year. lol Lotsa candy!
ReplyDeletei'm going to fill ike's stocking with gumballs. this will help me bypass the gumball machine through at least feb 10.
ReplyDeleteI realize tomorrow's Christmas Eve, but I've done mittens/gloves, $1 slinkies from Target (yes, I've done it 3 years in a row), slap bracelets (what are they called?!), silly putty, and this year I'm doing glow-in-the-dark stars for Nat's bedroom ceiling.
