JuSt tO LeT yOu KnOw... pages 1 and 2

Here they are... I cannot believe how little time I have had to work on these this week. Have you ever had one of those weeks that you thought was going to be so relaxed, not much going on, and then BAM... you are busy at all times. I actually got back up last night to scrap, at a very late hour... I literally had this book on my brain, and came to work on it, but... my printer was being evil and wouldn't print. So, hopefully in days to come I can crank these out a little quicker! Here they are:

This had one of the My Mind's Eye transparencies over it... LOVING those, and have several more on order as I type! I actually cut off the barcode part, edged some white paint on it and used it under the other transparency. WHY??? you may ask... because I thought it was very fitting that it said "My Mind's Eye 2006" How cool is that? I mean this whole little "JuSt tO LeT yOu KnOw " journal is all about how I see things... My Mind's Eye... Sweet huh? I also used one of the Simple Scrapbooks Quizzes for it.

Here is the 2nd page, telling "7 things you don't know about me." It was hard for a chatterbox like myself to think of some things that I don't rattle on about... I mean there are some deeply personal things I keep to myself, obviously, but other than that... I did share one I never have before. Can you guess which one? Anyway, I am still loving this new fun project, and can't wait to work on it some more tomorrow. (Unless that is I can't resist the urge to make a little "5 Favorites" mini-book from Ali Edwards challenge on her blog... It's just a cool little idea! Have a good weekend all...

"JuSt tO LeT yOu KnOw" inside cover...

Here it is... the inside cover of the "JuSt tO LeT yOu KnOw" album. That is what I am calling it. I didn't get to work on it as much as I thought I would this weekend, hence, you are only seeing this one page. Let me know what ya' think... and I'll be working on more this week, sometime... LOL.

Now, you get to see many beach pictures... We had such a GREAT time. We loved being with my sister, her husband, and their little boy 9and his nanny, whom Lincoln developed a huge cruch on. (more on that later, there is a scrapbook page coming!!) We just relaxed, played cards, played on the beach, and enjoyed being together... it was grand, and we all wanted to stay for one more week. I loved that being with them was just good, truly a good time. Very cool. So here are some pictures, and since between the two of us we took over 600, be glad that I narrowed it down to this many... LOL!

My little man, playing in the water...

Master of the Boogie Board... He really did catch on pretty quickly.

Playing in the sand, fun until you take off your swimsuit...

My brother in law and my little nephew, such a cutie...

I love this shot of my husband, it was an early morning sunrise walk with just the four of us...

This has to be one of my favorite shots of the trip, pure fun, can't wait to scrap this one!!

Here is one of me and my sis... isn't she beautiful??? (and she is brilliant as well... so unfair LOL)

And here is one more of the little stinker... my sister and Micah both think I should send his picture in to a child model agency... LOL. He is cute, but then I am pretty biased!!

New Project... and some lovely X-Ray photos...

Okay, we'll start with the pretty stuff...
here is my new cool-mo journal/project/scrapbook/type thing... Obviously I haven't settled on a name. I got these Maya Road Chipboard albums after I saw, who else, Ali Edwards, use one in the CK magazine a few months ago... I love them. They are very cool, and the chipboard is really sturdy, it just feels "artsy" when you hold it. I am going to do it answering some of the quiz questions from the Simple Scrapbooks Shortcuts magazine. Honestly, when I first saw the magazine, I just loved the LO on the front... the fact that it had all these cool quizzes was just a bonus. i will also include just some random thoughts, like a journal i guess. I loved doing the 31 days one, so this will have some days like that I suppose. I just want some things for my kids and even grandkids to look back at, and realize, "WOW, she was a real person, who wasn't always wearing Depends and gumming pudding."
Here is the cover... I don't have time to get the first pages done and scanned, maybe tomorrow... or on the weekend!LOL... life is always busy isn't it!?!?

ANd yes... this is another SCANNED image... sans Micah's help, which is a miracle...

ANd, on a little bit of a grosser note... (is that word? Grosser?) Here are Lincoln's X-ray shots. The orthopedic doctor was so kind, and he e-mailed them to us. I did take my camera too, so here he is getting his cast as well. If you have a weak stomach... don't look!LOL. I think it is pretty amazing though to see how God made their little bones to heal so quickly. And once you see that SNAP, pretty amazing that he didn't cry more!

Of course we went with Carolina Blue over Duke blue...

Nice huh??? This is from the ER on Friday. We got one from Tuesday too, showing how much it healed, but it wouldn't load... not sure why... but hey, one gross bone x-ray per blog entry is enough right?

Oh my... a SCANNED image!!

Oh yes folks, believe it... these images were actually SCANNED in... no crooked, poorly lit, digital images... amazing huh??? I know, I always say my scanner is evil, and believe me, I mean it. Micah looked at the program, and fixed a few things... what a great husband. These are two more journal days. These were fun to do, thinking about things I like and dislike about myself. It was interesting to compare the two...LOL. (okay, and a little embarrassing!)

And onto a little sad news... my little man broke his arm. Yep. I was in the car line at school to pick him up, and they came and got me. I held it together until I saw that little arm... it was an "S"... no arm should ever look like an "S" and it was especially disturbing to see my own child like that. He broke both bones in his lower arm, the X-rays were gross... like little snapped chicken bones! So here he is... eating a little cake, with one hand. That cake was his reward after spending 5 long hours in the ER. He was a real trooper, I must say. (sorry, I didn't even crop or edit these pictures... AND Micah even asked while we were waiting in the room, "Oh, you don't have your camera do you!?!" Guess he is used to me wanting pics of everything.)

And of course, he is still wearing his "glasses"... with the broken arm, it looks pretty hilarious. We go get the hard cast tomorrow... that should be fun! Poor kid, he misses school, and getting him to sit still is about impossible, though I was told he should do so for the first 48 hours... yeah, right, like that is going to happen.
Okay, going to go work on a new crafty journal type something... and no, it is not the previously posted cute notebooks from Target... I am still figuring out how to remove, and then reload paper in them. (SHHH... don't tell JEN!!) It is actually something I think will be cool, but until it is... you'll have to wait!! :) If you've read this far... you are truly bored... LOL... Sorry, you know I have to be sarcastic in here somewhere, otherwise you all might think someone hijacked my blog. :)

Itching...

And don't worry... the itching I am referring to involves scrappin' not body parts or rashes...
We just got back from the beach. (more on that later.) Right before we left, I got these in the mail...

Aren't they cool??? I spied them on ALi Edwards blog, then saw them at a new online store I found, so of course, having my usual acquisition issues, I ordered them!! I am itching to use them, and the new scenic route paper that came with them, oh, and yeah, the new HS chipboard alphabets that came with them as well... you didn't think I would let them travel alone did you?

Next thing I am itching to get at are these...

I found them in the Target school clearance befire I left. I was shopping with Jen, who though intriqued by them, managed restraint. She even said, "Yes, they are cool. Yes, I think you will make something cool with them. No, I am not going to buy any, I won't ever actually remove the covers and do it." Restraint man, that girl has some! I of course, talked myself into "just one... well okay... two, so I can give one for a gift... but three is a good number... okay four and no more... but five, five is it!" Why five??? Well, because five was all they had left! But what a steal... only $1.34 each!! I am going to take the covers off and make some kick butt cool albums, journals, somethings... I must or Jen will never let me get away with buying this kind of clearance stuff again... LOL.

Okay, so that is all for today. I will post some more journal days tomorrow, and hopefully a LO or album made with the above... I just need a maid, cook, taxi driver, and nanny... then I would be able to get some serious work cranking... but then I would miss moments like this...

That is my son... wearing his dad's old glasses... he looks like that kid from the show we used to watch at school... His name was Simon, and he drew things with chalk or something. If you remember that, you will agree, if not, I will now seem old to you... He has been wearing them around like he needs them for reading and eating, and such. It is pretty cute, I must say...

Adios folks...

Album for my sister...

So this "album in a tin" is for my sister, Patti. She was so generous and took me to Austria with her on a business trip. We had a great time, she was so much fun to travel with. She travels alot for work, so she knows how to manuever everything from cabs to airports. And let me just say, if you have never been to a "Red Carpet Lounge" you should. This is a place in the airport where you can wait between flights. There are big comfy chairs, TVs, computer access, and CAPPUCINO!! There is even a food and drink bar.(complete with fancy cheeses, and shwanky crackers. These were not wheat thins my friends.) Apparently, once you are in the "Red Carpet Club", you get to enjoy all this by merely flashing your card, and all the ammenities are no charge. Obviously you have to pay to be a member, or all of us normal travelers would be in there sucking down the free drinks, and stealing the real forks. I am the normal traveler, I never knew such a place existed in the airport. I could have stayed there for a whole week, just keep the french vanilla capuccinos coming... and no, I did not steal any of the forks, but I did take an extra pack of crackers... I hope that wasn't too redneck of me.LOL.
I did have one advantage over my traveling savvy sister... I speak German!!LOL. It really did come in handy after all these years...
Anyway, we traveled in style and had a blast, so this album is my thank you gift to her... I used BG Urban Couture, We R Memory Keepers Ribbon,HS Rubons, and 7 Gypsies and MM Word stickers. Let me know what you think.
Oh, and as usual, the photos are a little crooked, the album is quite straight... And a word to the wise... don't use too many brads, eyelets, staples, etc, or the tin will won't close anymore. (too fat) You can then use some of your cool ribbon stash to keep it closed, and pretend you did it on purpose.
Auf Weidersehen!!
