Our Holiday Album...

Here is the cover of our Holiday ALbum. I am using the Basic Grey Papers that some sweet woman sent me... ADRIENNE!! Thanks again, these totally inspired me to get this thing going!!
I had it all done on Friday, except the "2006". I thought I had little number stamps, so I wanted to use those with some paint... no, I do not own number stamps... weird that I thought I did though huh? So, I resorted, finally, to the rubons... not loving them... may cover them up at a later date and change it a little. I would like to note that there is no stapled ribbon, or paint on the edges thus far... a major accomplishment for me!LOL. I will be sanding all the photo edges though.... Come on, you didn't expect me to go cold turkey here did ya'?
The little trees in the left corner are actually triangle jump rings that I put patterned paper behind, I think they came out cute, except that the KI memories glue leaves a residue everywhere... I may have to modpodge the cover because if it. And that paper is not actually visible directly above the bookplate. The gluedots have a little "give" and shifted during scanning...
I am relaxed and having fun this holiday season already... I took alot of stress out by getting all adults giftcards, and not worrying over the outside decorations. So this little book should be fun, I am writing down the memories in my trusty little sketch book, so I can scrap them at any time.
Ok, its very late, I couldn't sleep, and now, I am clearly babbling, and oddly, I am not nearly as sarcastic at 3:21am as I am in the day... what a fun new fact about me... I am a nicer person in the middle of the night...um, when no one sees me... sweet... go Team Jude...

  4. you always make me laugh...today it was the word "modpodge" and "team judy"!!

So back to you book...it's funny how not being able to see the real thing kind of takes away from it...the number look fine from the scan...but if I saw the real thing I might say "Yeah I see what you mean"...and I guess I haven't been reading your blog long enough as I didn't know you had a co-dependent relationship with ribbons and painted edges...but I did know about the sanding photo edges and personally i love that look...just need to know how you do it...and if you tell me you literally take a sander to you picures I'll feel like the world biggest idiot...please don't make me feel this way!!! LOL

  7. Hey Jude,

Loving the album so far. Those trees are darling. Are they tiny? It's hard to tell by looking how big they are. I never sand my photo edges. I'll have to try that some time. I do love buttons, though. Have lots of 'em. Need to use them up. Your AEzine layout's got me in the mood to dig them out again. Hope you guys have a great Christmas!!
